FAQs

Who is Richard Grand Cashmere?

Richard Grand Cashmere is a luxury knitwear brand dedicated to creating timeless, high-quality cashmere garments that combine elegance, comfort, and durability. The brand focuses on refined design, superior materials, and meticulous craftsmanship, offering pieces that feel as exceptional as they look. Each collection is thoughtfully curated to deliver versatile wardrobe staples that elevate everyday style.

What is cashmere and where does it come from?

Cashmere is a premium natural fiber sourced from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats, primarily found in regions such as Mongolia and parts of Central Asia. Known for its incredible softness, warmth, and lightweight feel, cashmere is significantly finer and more insulating than traditional wool. The fibers are carefully collected during seasonal molting and then processed into yarn, resulting in one of the most luxurious textiles in the world.

How is Richard Grand different from other cashmere companies?

Richard Grand stands apart through its unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship. All our sweaters are hand-made and we prioritize sourcing high-grade cashmere fibers, using precise knitting techniques, and maintaining strict quality control standards. Rather than focusing on fast fashion, Richard Grand emphasizes longevity—creating garments that maintain their softness, shape, and elegance over time. Attention to detail, modern yet timeless design, and a focus on customer experience further distinguish the brand.

How and where is Richard Grand cashmere made?

All Richard Grand cashmere sweaters are crafted without intermediaries in our own production facility in Perugia, Italy, giving us complete control over quality at every stage. By overseeing production directly, we ensure each garment meets exacting standards for softness, structure, and longevity. Our atelier produces approximately 35,000–40,000 sweaters annually, working exclusively with 100% cashmere and our signature 33-gauge cashmere-silk blend—among the finest and lightest in the world, with each piece weighing under 180 grams.

We source our yarns from Italy’s most respected spinners, selecting fibers known for their fineness, strength, and consistency. Ongoing investment in advanced knitting technology enhances precision and performance, while our commitment to responsible production remains central to everything we do. Each collection balances innovation with traditional Italian craftsmanship, featuring hand-finished details such as handmade intarsias and artisan embroidery. This dedication to small-batch production ensures every Richard Grand piece is distinctive, enduring, and unmistakably Italian.

What should I look for in a cashmere outfit?

When choosing a cashmere garment, consider the quality of the fiber, the softness of the fabric, and the construction of the piece. High-quality cashmere should feel smooth and substantial without being heavy, with tight, even knitting that helps prevent pilling and stretching. Fit and versatility are also important—look for pieces that complement your wardrobe and can be worn across multiple occasions. Well-made cashmere should retain its shape and feel luxurious with proper care.

If a product I want is sold out, what should I do?

If an item is currently unavailable, we recommend checking back regularly as popular styles are often restocked. You can also contact us at Barbara@richardgrand.com for information on upcoming availability or to inquire about similar alternatives. In some cases, we may be able to notify you when your desired item is back in stock.

Are Richard Grand products environmentally friendly?

Richard Grand is committed to responsible sourcing and mindful production practices. Guided by a commitment to responsible craftsmanship, we approach every day with care for the materials we use, the people who create our garments, and the planet we share.

How should I wash and care for Richard Grand clothing?

To maintain the beauty and longevity of your cashmere garments, we recommend gentle care. Hand wash in cold water using a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics, or use a professional dry cleaner when needed. Avoid wringing or twisting; instead, lay the garment flat to dry. Store folded rather than hung to prevent stretching, and consider using a fabric comb to remove any natural pilling that may occur over time.
